Recommended Read
We are reading a chapter every two weeks from "Feelings
Buried Alive Never Die" by Karol K. Truman.
(If you're new to the group, you can pick up a copy of the book
and join us, or pick another book you'd like to read and read
one chapter every couple of weeks.)
Chapter 2: Energy Vibrations
I'm a firm believer that thoughts and feelings have energy-either
positive or negative.
It is one of the primary reasons I advocate that everyone complete
the 30-day exercise from the January '06 issue.
" . . . all control begins with taking control of the
feelings we hold in our heart, because these feelings determine
the thoughts we hold in our conscious mind."
To move forward in a quest for change, there has to be a change
in the way we think about whatever it is we want changed. People
have literally transformed themselves by having a "change
of heart". It's not just a cliche.
"Everything we are today is the sum total
of all the feelings we have had to this moment."
Something happens. We have a certain feeling that comes from
the event. Our feelings trigger whatever is stored in our mind
about those set of circumstances. We react by making a decision.
Our current life state is a result of those reactions/decisions.
There was a lady who commented on a writing of mine. She basically
said some people have circumstances they didn't choose and it
may be very difficult to change them. I wrote her back with the
question "So, you didn't make any decision or choice that
lead you to your current circumstances? You were forced in some
manner against your will"?
"If what is happening to us now, both physically and
emotionally, is undesirable, our feelings and our thoughts
are what need fixing."
Understanding the origins of our thoughts and feelings, and
determining whether they serve us well or not, is what we must
do in order to stop the cycle of repeat conditions in our life.
Otherwise our circumstances will repeat themselves. It may be
with a different person, a different illness, or another type
of financial disaster, but our personal history will repeat itself
until we learn from it and make changes.
I found the "Doing Something About It" formula simple
and easy to follow steps to begin recognizing thoughts and feelings
so we can begin changing them.
