PERSONAL MASTERY TIP

When I talk to people or teach to a group of people, I always tell them to "hang out with positive people".

This is especially important when you are changing things in your life to make it better. You need to be around positive, supportive people. It's a must.

Phil Parker writes . . ."Allow your mind to FEAST on the positive and FAST on the negative."

Makes sense doesn't it? If you want to be a happy person, the positive in your life must outweigh the negative. Sure, we all have bad days or bad "times". Stuff happens. But we can learn to handle things differently and not let them overshadow the rest of our life.

I choose today to be a good day!

ON THE BUS
(Musings On Mass Transit)
Rant!

This seems like an "everybody on the bus talk on your cell phone" night. I look around and a majority are yacking away on their phone. Some of them remind me of the commercial where the lab coat people are watching and timing real talkers for some kind of unlimited minutes deal.

One lady gets off her phone and seems fidgety, like she doesn't know what she can do or should do if she's not on the phone. Another guy has the earpiece and mini mike so he looks like he is laughing and talking to himself.

I wonder what would happen to the hard-core "cellies" if the whole network went down for like a week. (?) Would they have to go and get counseling or prescription medication? Would they even know what a pay phone was or how to use it? Could they handle retrieving messages from their home voice mail or answering machine? Wow!

I went to an English fish and chips place for dinner last week and there was a family of four at the table across from me and my friend. Mom is talking on her cell phone almost through the whole meal.

#1: How rude is that? Chewing your food and talking with your mouth full over the phone? That's almost as bad as going to the bathroom and flushing the toilet while on the phone.

#2: This was a family meal together? Didn't seem like quality time to me. And what kind of example is being set here? Ever ask yourself if the world is going (has gone) insane? And we wonder why nobody has time, nobody listens, and nobody has manners anymore. Duh!

So what's the point? To become our best and release all the negative and stress we need to unplug! It's almost like a majority of people are hard wired in and wonder why they are so stressed and their life is so hectic, but stinks at the same time. Hello! Information and technology overload!

TV, radio, video games, cell phones, computers, blackberries, personal organizers . . . You need to unplug! Limit your exposure to all this stuff. This is a great example of why I recommend the 30-day exercise to everyone just starting out with me on their self-growth journey. It helps a person see all the negative and stress they expose themselves to daily.
