"Most of us, though, have some areas of our life that could be better or need drastic change"

"Your next step would be discovering what is making you unhappy or unfulfilled."

On The Bus (Musings On Mass Transit)

It's clear and cold with chilly wind gusts. The sky a nice blue. The sun is lighting the mountains so the snow can be seen. A little hazy. I enjoy nice sunrises like these.

Passing by the "Y", I view the houses and condo's on the hillside on stilts. I'm talking pretty large structures on what looks to be skinny legs. Don't think I'd live up there. Do people think about or know we are on a fault line? How about the "get too much rain and mudslides"?

I guess it's sorta like the beach. "Maybe the hurricane won't come here". Or the flood plain. "The river hasn't flooded this area in 12 years". Wow. That brings up a thought . . .

I don't think they should rebuild New Orleans in its original location. C'mon. To think we are smart enough, or have the technology, to prevent flooding during a hurricane when we're below sea level is insane. Let's learn from history for a change. As Cedric The Entertainer would say "Come on, now".

Move the city proper some miles north and then rebuild. Why risk another cataclysmic event in the future? I know I'll probably get a lot of flack over this, but I don't want to have to see the same type thing happen again in 2, 5, or 20 years. I surmise the good people of New Orleans don't want to experience it again either. I guess the real question is this . . . Is going back to a place that vulnerable worth your life and perhaps the life of your family?

Anyway, not much going on other than some real strong cologne that just got on the bus. Here's a trick question . . . Did the guy or his cologne board the bus first? Whew!

I'm sitting up front today. Different perspective up here. Time to put my notes away as my stop is coming up.

Personal Mastery Tip

"For things to change, you have to change."
(Jim Rohn)

You may be perfectly happy with all aspects of your life. If you are, that's awesome! Most of us, though, have some areas of our life that could be better or need drastic change.

If you have alot of unhealthy stress, are not happy, or feel like you're just living a joyless life, then you have realized something needs to be done.

Realizing change is needed is an important first step. Congratulations! Your next step would be discovering what is making you unhappy or unfulfilled. You would then figure out what you can do to improve your life. The final step would be to take action.

Thinking about change and planning change are good, but their power is lost if action is not taken. What this means is you can dream about whatever it is you want in life, and it will remain just a dream. If you take some action every day toward your dream, your dream will become a reality.

Decide this week you're going to take action and build yourself a better life! Discuss this with your loved ones and perhaps they will decide to support you and improve themselves as well.

Exercise Your Mind

It is easy to send good thoughts to people we care about. Wish for them the best. Well, it is most of the time anyway.

If you want to take your happiness a big step beyond this, then send good thoughts and well wishes to those who are not always so nice. To those co-workers who seem to help make life at work miserable. To the cashier at the store who doesn't seem to know the definition of customer service. To the crazy person who cuts you off in traffic.

Sending good thoughts and well wishes out to everyone will bring the same back to you. Don't believe me? Try it for a week and see what difference it makes in your life.

Parting Thought

I hope you all are starting to implement some changes in your life if you've found it needing improvement. There is no time like right now to begin! It's ok to start with baby steps . . . as long as you start something!

Thanks for spending some time with me. I look forward to visiting with you next time.
